Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has accused some political parties of being jealous of India’s successful hosting of the G20 Summit. He stated that these narrow-minded parties feel restless when India rises on the world stage under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership. His comments come after Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav criticized the BJP government for serving delicacies to G20 dignitaries while many people in the country are dependent on limited food grains. Meanwhile, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor praised the New Delhi Declaration of the G20 members, calling it a diplomatic triumph for India.

India assumed the G20 presidency on December 1 last year and hosted about 200 meetings related to the summit across 60 cities in the country. Prime Minister Modi handed over the ceremonial gavel of the Group of 20 presidency to Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva before declaring the summit closed. The hosting of the G20 Summit has been seen as a significant achievement for India on the international stage.

Overall, there are differing opinions regarding India’s hosting of the G20 Summit. While some political leaders like Jyotiraditya Scindia and Shashi Tharoor view it as a success and a diplomatic triumph, others like Akhilesh Yadav criticize the government’s priorities in serving international guests while many people in the country struggle with limited resources. The G20 presidency allowed India to organize numerous meetings across the country, showcasing its capabilities on a global scale.
